How do I create a schedule?

Schedule Today’s best-in-class scheduling solution manages schedules across roles, departments, and locations. Post shifts, manage schedule conflicts and send automated shift call outs all in one place.

 

Filter Your View

Navigate to the Schedule module then use the filter to select the time period that you wish to schedule for:

      • The date(s) that you wish to schedule for
      • The 1 week or 2 week view
      • Applicable filter options

Select a position to begin scheduling.

Create a Shift - Open Shift

1. Hover your mouse over any cell to begin creating shifts

2. Click on an Open Shift cell to add new shifts by completing the form

Open Shifts are on-call shifts: you have the ability to create numerous shifts at once or allow overtime if an employee were to pick up this on-call shift

3. To add more details, click Edit Details

4. Click Save

Hover your mouse over the shift you created to edit, copy and paste, delete the shift or review further options. If you created more than one shift, you will see a counter summarizing the total number of shifts you created in the cell.

Create a Shift - Assigned Shift

1. Hover your mouse over any cell to begin creating shifts.

2. Click on an employee’s cell to add new Assigned Shifts by completing the form.

Assigned Shifts are pre-filled: these shifts will automatically appear on your team member’s calendar. You can also drag and drop any draft shifts into an Assigned cell.

Draft Shifts

All shifts are drafts while you are building out your schedule. When you publish your schedule, published shifts are viewable by your team members. 

 

Publish Shifts

1. When your schedule is ready, publish your shift by clicking onSchedule_Create_7.png.

2. You may select whether you publish shifts in

      • all open tabs
      • only certain positions or
      • all draft shifts for the dates you are viewing.

3. Click Next to review a  summary of your draft schedule before clicking on Publish to publish your shifts.

Congratulations! You have published your schedule! This schedule is now live and your team member(s) have received a notification on the Schedule Today mobile app including their new assigned shift(s).
